Efforts are on to implement Fiber to Home (FTH) technology and to offer Internet services with highest speed very soon in BSNL said Chief General Manager of the Andhra Pradesh Circle T.N. Sudheendra Kumar this Saturday. Right now Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is ahead of other private players in the cellular phone services market he added.  Participating in the inaugural function of customer service centre as part of the Project Smile at the Main Road, Mr. Sudheendra Kumar said that the FTH technology would be introduced to Kakinada and Rajahmundry towns, with which Internet users could enjoy a speed of 2.5 gigabytes per second. Once the FTH technology is introduced, services like video conferencing, bandwidth on demand and video on demand will also be provided to the customers he added. Referring to the Project Smile, he said that customers could get all the services of the BSNL from one customer service centre under the project. Services like post-paid mobile with STD facility, national roaming, and sale of SIM cards, on the spot availability of land line and WLL phone services, on the spot re-connection and other value-added services will be available are this center. Experience Zone' is also arranged here where customers can experience all the services of the BSNL here, which will help them how to make better use of the technology. Entry into this zone is also absolutely free. General Manager of the BSNL's East Godavari telecom district G. Raghavendra Rao, divisional engineer (urban) P.D. Arun Kumar and others were present.
