Kakinada, April 29th: A meeting was organized to farmers on Wednesday at the district collectorate on MSP (Minimum Support Price). Speaking on the occasion the district collector, Mr. Gopalkrishna Dwivedi inquires for the cooperation of millers in extending the Minimum Support Price to farmers as per the government guidelines. He said for ‘A’ grade per quintal of paddy millers have to pay Rs. 950 & Rs. 900 for the common variety and cross-checked with the farmers regarding the payments that they received. The farmers informed to the collector that they are being paid accordingly but some variances were noticed in weighing while taking the stocks.
Collector directed the officials of weight and measures department to take appropriate action on the issue, also directed the civil supplies authorities to give enough publicity over the MSP through pamphlets and to open complaints cell to record complaints in a separate proforma. He asked the farmers community to file their complaints, if any at this number 0884-2378641.
