Farmers asked to utilize latest farm practices

Kakinada, July 9th: The East Godavari joint director of agriculture, Mr. T. Nandaiah asked the farmers to adopt latest methods for effective crop cultivation in the district. Participating in the district level orientation program for farmers at the local Krishi Bhavan on Thursday, the joint director said that activities such as dairy development, sericulture, fisheries, horticulture will be coordinated with the farmers associations for better yield and good financial returns to the farmers.

 

The joint director also advocated for active participation and association of farmers in seed production, mechanization of agriculture process, use of bio fertilizers, taking up of sericulture activity in the district. He disclosed that the department has increased the exposure visits of farmers to other places and other states to have understanding of better farm practices. Several officers belonging to agriculture department, progressive farmers attended the meeting.
