Kakinada, Jan 2nd: Minister of state for defence, Mr M.M Pallam Raju has inaugurated the new Badam Bala Krishna eye bank building here on Friday. With all the facilities and latest equipments the new building of the eye bank was constructed at NFCL road, Kakinada. Speaking on the occasion Minister appreciated the services extended by the eye bank management in serving the society. He encouraged the establishment of such eye banks in the country so as to serve the poor and the needy. Later he gave scholarships to the students who were blessed with eye sight through Bala Krishna Eye bank.
Eye bank president, Badam Bala Krishna also presided over the meeting. He recollected the services of the bank. He said that the eye bank has collected nearly 212 corneas from different people and successfully operated 52 blind people. He thanked Dr. D.V Raju eye hospital, Nayana eye hospital, GGH Kakinada, Rajahmundry Gauthami eye hospital for extending their services towards the bank. D. Vijaya Lakshmi, Gollapudi Krishna Murthy, Dr. Chandra Shekar, Vadrevu Ravi, Ravula Sriram, Srinivas, Manda Krishna Reddy and many more participated in the occasion.
