District Collector M. Ravi Chandra on Wednesday asked the bankers to extend cooperation to self-help groups (SHGs) by way of sanctioning them linkage loans and encourage the groups to take up development activities. Addressing a meeting with the bankers on SHGs here, Mr. Ravi Chandra said the objective of appointing of village-level committees was to ensure recoveries to the Society for Eradication of Rural Poverty. Advising the bankers not to keep the funds meant for the SHGs in savings accounts,he underscored the need for focusing on total financial inclusion plus scheme.
