Ravulapalem, Oct 23rd: Severe explosion was caused due to fire works, which killed a six month old boy and four more persons in the family including his mother sustained severe burns. Incident took place on Wednesday night at Gopalapuram in Ravulapalem district.
According to the police, Venkatarao living along with his wife, son Ramaiah, daughter in law Ramadevi and grand son Deepak in Gopalapuram village was running a kirana shop. He stored huge quantities of fire works for sale for Diwali.
On Wednesday night explosion took place as the material caught fire and burst. House was completely burned in the explosion. Six months old Deepak was killed and the whole family sustained severe burns. The injured were shifted to Government hospital in Kakinada.
Doctors said that Ramadevi , wife of Ramaiah was 60% burnt and her condition was critical. Amalapuram DSP visited the spot and filed case for futhur investigation.
