Hyderabad, May 13th: Exit polls conducted by different television channels for the five phase Loksabha elections-2009 which ended on Wednesday predicted a fractured mandate. Most of them gave results favoring towards congress led UPA and the next lead was given to BJD led NDA with the third front and others lagging behind. However the exit polls in 2004 gave wrong results over victory.
According to the exit polls, the results of 2004 elections are likely to replicate showing favor towards congress. The CNN-IBN predicted 185-205 seats to UPA in which 145 to 160 seats will be of congress contribution. NDA will gain 180 seats while Third Front will acquire 134 seats. Fourth Front which includes RJD, Samajwadi Party and LJP was projected to get 25 to 35 seats.
Mean while the TDP president, Chandra Babu Naidu on Wednesday advised party leaders and workers not to be disheartened by reports saying TD will lose. The TD-led Mahakutami will form the government in the state and a Third Front government would form the government at the center, he said. TD leaders are not ready to accept the exit poll results and were with strong confidence of forming the government.
