Engineering counseling begins from July 29

Hyderabad, July 27th: The counseling for the admission into various engineering colleges is likely to begin on Wednesday. In all 1, 93,275 seats in 577 engineering colleges will be available for the Eamcet qualified students this year under SW-I counseling. Out of the 577 colleges 21 are government and the rest are private colleges. The process beings with the commencement of verification of certificates in 50 help line centers set up in all the district headquarters.

 

This year the counseling will be entirely ‘web-based’ and the students should exercise options on colleges and courses in order of their priorities from July 31 to August 16. The allotment of seats will be made on August 17. The websites are http://apeamcet.nic.in, http://apicet.nic.in. The total number of engineering colleges in the state stands at 631. The state also has over 2.15 lakh engineering seats, the highest in the country.

 

AP State Council of Higher Education chairman, Prof K.C Reddy, said that the entire colleges and courses are placed in the website and the same will be accessible to the students from Tuesday. 19 colleges were not included in the list as they failed to secure the required approvals from AICTE, the state government and the universities concerned.
