Kakinada, Dec 30th: The officials of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has trapped the executive engineer of Panchayat Raj department, B. Narasimha Reddy in East Godavari red handed when he was taking a bribe of Rs 7,000 from a contractor on the department premises here on Wednesday. An ACB case was registered against the engineer who will be produced in the ACB court on Thursday.
The DSP of the ACB, Mr. Ch. Sriramachandra Rao told reporters that contractor, T. Uday Kumar of Kakinada city agreed to take up nearly Rs 9 lakh worth of works of the Panchayat Raj of Sankhavaram mandal. The work has to be completed by the end of this financial year. However kumar has completed nearly Rs 5 lakh worth of the works in the last nine months and was waiting for bills from the department. He approached Reddy, who asked him a bribe of Rs 7,000. Kumar immediately approached the ACB officials, who caught the engineer red handed while accepting the bribe.
