Hyderabad, Oct 23rd: Andhra Pradesh Information Technology (IT) and Communications minister Komitireddy Venkata Reddy on Oct 23 said the state government was striving to generate employment through the IT sector to solve the unemployment problem. Releasing the Special Directory of Software Products from the state, brought out by Hyderabad Software Exporters Association (HYSEA), he said in the wake of present global meltdown, there were some problems for employment in the IT sector.
The state government would conduct a meeting with chieftains of Software companies, including 300 small enterprises to discuss on providing employment to the unemployed youth in the state. He said the software industry in Andhra Pradesh had made vast progress in the last ten years to attain the third position in the country in terms of scale and performance in spite of being a late entrant into the space. The minister said the IT plan of the state would be announced after a meeting with Chief Minister in the first week of November. In recent years, Hyderabad had witnessed a large number of new software product startups and these hold the promise of creating the next major technology company, the next Google or Microsoft, right here, he added.
