Employment given to 14 victims

Kakinada, Mar 21st: East Godavari district administration has given employment to 14 victims under atrocity, rape and illicitly distilled liquor consumption cases. At a vigilance Monitoring Committee meeting held here on Sunday, Social Welfare Minister, Mr. Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose said that out of the 14 victims, nine of them come under atrocity and gang rape cases and five of them were the kin of people of Konaseema area who died of consuming ID-liquor. He said that the district administration is successfully solving the atrocity cases. He directed the concerned officials to create awareness among the people by conducting camps on the Atrocity Act.

East Godavari district, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi also presided over the meeting. Speaking on the occasion he said that a total of 227 atrocity cases were registered in 2008and total number of 238 were registered in 2009. The ZP chairman Mr. Ch. Venugopala Krishna, district SP Mr. Y. Nagi Reddy, ITDA project director, Mr. Ronald Ross and others participated in the meeting.
