Eligible to get houses in February

Hyderabad, Jan 11th: All eligible people will be sanctioned houses under the INDIRAMMA scheme during February, Andhra Pradesh Housing Minister C Silpa Mohan Reddy said on Monday. Realizing the vision of late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to provide houses to all on saturation basis, all those eligible would be sanctioned houses once the integrated household survey got completed next month, he said after reviewing the progress of the weaker sections Housing Programme at a conference of Project Directors in the Housing department.

During the first phase of the integrated household survey conducted by the Civil Supplies department covering two lakh households, it was found that nine per cent of the beneficiaries were not living in the places they had been alloted houses. ''We have to do cross-checking to ascertain whether they have migrated temporarily or not,'' he added. At the same time, recovery process would be initiated against ineligible people who had cornered the benefits under the INDIRAMMA programme, he said.
