Kakinada, Feb 25th: To avoid the late payments resulting in disconnection of power supply, the Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company has introduced Electronic Clearing Service for acceptance of power bills from consumers through bank accounts in East Godavari District. The process is said to be first of its kind to be introduced in Rajahmundry and Kakinada. According to this new process, the bill amount will be debited from the bank account of the consumer under a debit clearance mechanism.
All-time payment machines (APMs) was also introduced in addition to this by the department, one at power substation near Jampeta market in Rajahmundry and at the power substation in the RMC premises. The AAO (Assistant Accounts Officer) of Kakinada, Mr. Prasad said that the consumers can discontinue the process on request and also opt for address change if needed.
