Hyderabad, June 24th: For the people those who look towards the sky, there is much extraterrestrial entertainment in the coming weeks, with three eclipses occurring in a span of 30days from July 7. The penumbra lunar eclipse, in which the moon will be darkened by the earth’s shadow, will occur on July 7 and August 6, and a total solar eclipse is set to occur on July 22. Astronomers have asked people not to miss it as the next total solar eclipse will only happen in 2064.

Interestingly, another lunar eclipse is intended to occur between 1am to 2am on the night of December 31, darkening the New Year celebrations. Though astronomers are excited at the sequence of eclipses, astrologers are wagging a finger. Legends say that the Kurukshetra war of Mahabharata, destruction of Dwaraka and the two world wars took place after three eclipses had occurred in a span of 30 days. The well-known astrologer, Mr Pradeep Bansal, said it was not prudent to scare people by such tales as these are all stories being spread by some vested interests.
