Team from East Godavari District achieved the championship award in the State Level Pyka Women Hockey Competitions. In the final match with Kadapa, they scored 5-0 and won the match with extraordinary performance. G.Durga Devi, Param Jyothi from East Godavari District team made two goals each and Sudha Rani made one goal. This final match was conducted here on Sunday at District Sports Grounds. This match was ended in a span of just 20minutes with brilliant performance by the team. However, Kadapa team who could not make even one goal stood as runner-ups. Teams from Vishaka and Nellore achieved third and fourth positions in this tournament. Regional Deputy Director Chinnaya, District Olympic Association President YD Ramarao, District Sports Development Officer SV Ramana presented the prizes for the winners of these competitions. Olympic Association Secretary Mr. Padmanabham, Hockey Association Vice President BL Satyanarayana, Tirupathi Hockey Coach Muralidhar, East Hockey Association Secretary Ravi Raju were present.
