Islamabad, Oct 29th: A major earthquake took place in Pakisthan’s Balochistan province on early hours of Wednesday which killed nearly 200 people and many were wounded. Most of the victims were children.
Metrological department said that the magnitude of earthquake is nearly 6.6 and took place early at 5.10am in the morning. As the incident took place early in the morning many of the victims were sleeping, so a great human loss had occurred.
Nearly eight villages have been badly effected and many more places were not reached till now as the roads were blocked with the landslides. Army is trying to help the people with helicopters.
Senior police officer Mayor Delawar said that many of the houses were collapsed and the dead bodies were buried under the mud, so the death rate would increase a lot. As the earthquake took near the valley the intensity of the quake is more.
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has announced Rs. 3,00,000 for the kin of the families who died in the earthquake and one lakh compensation for the injured families. President has also announced the compensation from the President’s fund to both the kin of the deceased and the injured families.
