Hyderabad, May 28th: The results of Eamcet-2009 which was held on May 14 will be announced on June 1 at 5.30pm and the ranks are likely to be out on June 21. According to the Eamcet chairman, DS Reddy, the initial key will be released on June 1 and the results will be announced on the same day. With the decision taken by the education authorities on giving weightage of intermediate marks in allotting Eamcet ranks, the students have to wait till the release of the intermediate supplementary exam results which are expected to be out on June 18.

The decision was taken by the authorities to encourage the students studying in rural areas where there were no proper educational facilities to offer coaching to the students due to which they were falling behind the ranks. Mr. Reddy said that the marks will be calculated depending on the intermediate marks. He said that 75 percent weightage will be given to the marks obtained in the Eamcet exam and 25 percent weightage will be given to the marks obtained in intermediate exams excluding the languages. Putting together the total percent, rank will be allocated to the particular student. The problem of getting same rank to more than one student can be avoided to a larger extent with this new method, Mr. Reddy said.
