Kakinada, May 14th: The Engineering and Medical Common Entrance Test (Eamcet)-2009 held peacefully at 42 centers in the region on Thursday. According to the Eamcet-2009 regional coordinator and JNTU principal, E.V Prasad, 14,411 candidates appeared for the engineering stream out of the registered figure of 14,888 and 2,416 appeared for medicine out of 2,593 registered candidates. No malpractices or any untoward incidents took place while conducting the exam.
With the warning given by the Eamcet officials saying that students will not be allowed into the examination center even if they are late by a minute, many of the students reached the centers half-an-hour before the scheduled time. The authorities have arranged special buses to the students who are allotted Korangi KIET as examination center. They toured nearly 15 buses for the purpose which resulted in avoiding inconvenience to the students about traffic jams and late bus arriving.
According to the chairman of Eamcet, Prof D.N Reddy the key will be released on May 21 and students will be given a week to lodge complaints. The marks will be announced on June 1 and the ranks on June 20 after considering the 25 percent weightage for inter marks. Most of the students found questions from chemistry tough and lengthy. They also found question out of syllabus.
