Hyderabad, Aug 24th: The final seat allotment for students in the ongoing Eamcet engineering web-based counseling will be delayed as the admission committee has revised the schedule. The seats will be allotted on September 4 as against August 31 that was announced earlier. However, the classes for first year engineering students will begin from September 7.

Prof K.C. Reddy, the chairman of the AP State Council of Higher Education said that so far 2.21 crore options on colleges and courses have been exercised by the Eamcet-qualified students on the web in the ongoing counseling. While the maximum options given were 2,902 by a single student, it was a minimum of 35 options by another student. With the students exercising options on such a large scale, it will some time to process the data. For this reason the allotment was postponed to Sept 4.

The second and final phase of Eamcet counseling will be conducted from September 13 to 20. The seat allotment for second phase will be on September 23. For Bi.PC students who want admissions into the B. Pharmacy courses, the counseling will be held from Sept 6 to 11. Large number of engineering seats will remain vacant as about 81,000 students stayed away from the counseling. Meanwhile, the final phase of counseling for Icet students for admission into MBA and MCA courses will be conducted from August 31 to September 4.
