Apart from belonging to poor family, Merisey Durga of Kakinada utilized every opportunity to get selected for National level competitions from District and State level. Durga is studying 9th class in Sarvepalli Radhakrishna Corporation High School, Kakinada. She has been selected to participate in National Level Sub Junior Kho-Kho Championship competitions from this month 25th to 29th in Delhi. In the month of March, Andhra Kho-Kho association who noticed her talent in State level competitions held in Nandyala selected her for National level competitions. From the year 2008, Durga  is being trained by Mr.Vasu, P.E.T of Rangers Sports Club from SSRK Corporation School. In the year 2009, she stood at 3rd place in the state level competitions that were held in Guntur, stood at 4th place in the competitions held at Secunderabad and Hyderabad, stood at 3rd place in Vijayanagaram competitions and stood at 2nd place in Anakapalli competitions. Corporator Kampara Venkata Prasad, HM Sathi Venkata Reddy, teachers and other students congratulated her.
