Hyderabad, Nov 12th: All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to convert the education in engineering colleges as dual shift by providing engineering classes in the morning section and polytechnic in the evening shift.
Government has taken the decision to increase the number of seats in polytechnic colleges and to reduce the scarcity of diploma holders. Permission will be granted to the colleges which were established on or before 2005.
This system will be implemented from next educational year and nearly 400 seats will be provided in each college making a total of 40,000 seats at a whole. Speaking to the media Prem Chand, Commissioner of Technical Education said that this is the great opportunity for the students to excel in their studies.
Commissioner asked the students to lay the foundation for their future as the demand for the diploma holders is increasing at a larger extend and placements will also be provided to them through campus recruitments.
