Kakinada, April 24^th: Compared to the previous years there was decrease in the inter pass percent. The Board of Intermediate education has announced the results of second year intermediate on Friday. While the pass percent in the previous year was 63 this year it could reach only 59 percent. The pass percent of the vocational courses was also decreased.

For this academic year in the district nearly 33,847 regular students appeared for the second year intermediate exams out of which 19, 825 were passed. The pass percentage of girl students was more compared to the pass percentage of boys. For the vocational courses 3,784 students appeared and 2,231 were passed. Most of the ranks were bagged by private and corporate institutions.

With the decision taken by the educational authorities to give 25 percent weightage of inter marks to Eamcet this time the marks gained importance. The dates for the supplementary results were also announced by the educational authorities. They were likely to be conducted from May 20 to May 28. Both first year and second year advanced supplementary exams will be conducted on the same day.
