Rajahmundry, July 9th: The superintendent of police, Mr. Y. Nagi Reddy said that efforts were being made to conduct awareness programs against ragging in educational institutions in order to help students understand its implications. Taking part in an orientation program for the students held under the aegis of Adikavi Nannaya University here on Thursday, Mr. Reddy warned of stringent action against those who involve in ragging and cautioned them that anyone who resorts to this practice would be arrested immediately.
He advised the students not to involve in such anti social activities and asked them to be preoccupied with their studies in order to get good results. He also asked to prepare for civil services. The university vice chancellor, Ms K. Nirupa Rani and faculty were present. Meanwhile the ONGC local asset manager, Mr. A.A Khan gave away Rs 4.57 lakh to beneficiaries as part of its corporate social responsibilities here on Thursday. ONGC manager has extended the financial help to several organizations which were dedicated to promote education and provide help to the physically challenged.
