Drastic come down of vegetable prices

Kakinada, Feb 11th: The prices of the vegetable in the local markets have come down drastically in the last couple of weeks. Expect few varieties of vegetables the prices of all the other vegetables have reduced a lot. Good quality of onions, brinjal, tomato, cabbage, carrot, beetroot and others have come down drastically. Few of the consumers express their happiness over the decrease of vegetable rates but they were more worried about the increasing rate of fine quality rice. Fine quality of rice is being sold to the consumers at Rs 29 to Rs 30 per kilo.

 

Consumers are alleging that, thought the government has declared to sell the fine quality rice for Rs 20, they were not provided with these varieties in any of the markets. Consumers are pointing out that the much publicized Rs 20 a kilo in the open market was not seen any ware. Vegetable merchants say that the rates of few of the vegetables are more because they were importing them from Kurnool, Vijayawada and other markets of various places.
