Dowry harassment force woman to attempt for suicide

Hyderabad, June 17th: A 29 year old woman, Mrs. Radhika tried to end her life by hanging after allegedly being harassed for dowry by her husband and in-laws. She was admitted in a private hospital and was battling for life. Radhika was Daughter-in-law of the former president of FAPCCI, Mr. M.L Agarwal and her husband was Mr. Ankit Agarwal.

 

Mrs. Radhika Agarwal left behind a note stating that her husband and in-laws tortured her for dowry and gold and stated that she was never happy with her husband since marriage and he used to constantly find faults in all her actions. She alleged that her father-in-law used to insist her husband to torture her. She also stated that Mr. Ankit was having an extra marital relation with a woman and when questioned on the same she was beaten abruptly.

 

Mr. Prakash Bansal, father of Ms Radhika gave a complaint to the police stating that his daughter was tortured by Agarwal’s family for dowry and she with her daughter were living with them from past two months. He said that they decided to go for a divorce and there was an argument with the Agarwal Family two days back. Humiliated with the situation, Radhika hanged herself from the ceiling fan. A case was booked.
