Hyderabad, Oct 29th: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Oct 29 decided to distribute the bonds and certificates of the 'YSR Abhaya Hastam', Former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy's pet scheme, providing pensions to the women members of the Self Help Groups (SHGs). The Cabinet, which met on Oct 29, was understood to have given its approval to distribute the bonds on first of November, being the Andhra Pradesh Formation Day at Chevella, in Ranga Reddy District by Chief Minister K Rosaiah.
Dr Rajasekhar Reddy had formally launched the scheme in February first week this year. According to officials, the government had decided to provide pensions to one crore women member after they attained the age of 60 with a minimum of Rs 500 and a maximum of Rs 2,500 per month. The government had enrolled 50 lakh women so far and would enroll a total of one crore women in phased manner soon. The designated Ministers in the District Headquarters would distribute the bonds and certificates on first November. Each member would also get insurance cover.
