Direct flight to Singapore

Visakhapatnam, Oct 18th: The port city which has been waiting to have direct air service to Singapore will get this shortly with Silk Airlines Corporation interested to introduce the air service likely from January 2010. It has intensified its plan of action in this regard and is now planning to ply the service thrice a week initially and to be enhanced depending upon the demand for the service.

Honorary president of Indian Air Travelers Association Mr. D. Varada Reddy said that a high level preliminary meeting will be held in Singapore on October 22 to take a final decision. Mr. Reddy said air travelers from Cuttack to West Godavari district were frequently going to Singapore and would be largely benefited once the air service is launched. This air service will be the first international air service from Visakhapatnam. It is likely to be launched in the second fort-night of coming January.
