Kakinada, Jan 7th: The minister for social welfare, Mr. Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, inaugurated Rs 2 crore worth dialysis unit at the Women and Child department block of the
government general hospital (GGH) here on Thursday. The unit comes into operation in the hospital for the convenience of Rajiv Arogyasri (RAS) beneficiaries and it was set up under the scheme of RAS with a private partnership, the minister said. Minister also told that thousands of poor people are being benefited under the RSA due to which several other states were keen on adopting the scheme.
However as part of the hospital development works, they would set up an ART center with help of Clinton Foundation, which would be inaugurated in 10 days. For CT Scan projects, the AMG organization has already contributed Rs 80 lakh. It is estimated to be completed with in 45 days. The hospital superintendent, Mr. M.B.R Sarma, said that the GGH was actually needed 10 dialysis units which are useful to the kidney patients. However at present a total of six such units are there. The units would be boon to the poor patients who are not able to spends lots of money for dialysis, he added.
