A 22-year-old woman, Oleti Durga Gowri of Valagatodu village near Mandapet was admitted in Government General Hospital on Sunday. The doctors performed a cesarean on her. Though the female infant had no complaints, Durga Gowri complained of continuous bleeding ever since the caesarean was performed. Even as treatment was going on, she died in the early hours of Monday. The death of a neonatal mother while undergoing treatment in the GGH caused a clash between doctors and the relatives of the victim here on Monday. Accusing the doctors of ill-treating the woman, Durga Gowri's relatives picked up argument with them. After staging a dharna outside the GGH, the relatives went to the Collectorate and submitted a memorandum to the Collector M. Ravi Chandra demanding action against the doctors concerned. Following an assurance from the Collector that an enquiry would be ordered into the incident, the relatives left the hospital along with the body of Durga Gowri.
