DGCA begins probe on copter crash

Hyderabad, Sep 9th: The officials of the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) began probing the copter at Nallamala forest on Wednesday. The team visited Pavuralagutta of Rudrakoduru Hills in Nallamala forest. They also met revenue, police and forensic officials and collected the date regarding the accident. The committee will also take assistance from the Indian Air Force and has been given two months by the ministry of civil aviation to submit their report.

However the members of DCGA committee said the investigation of such cases will take up to three years. Efforts were on to complete the probe as quickly as possible said sources. DGCA officials said they would have to verify all the equipment found at the crash site and verify the Cockpit Voice Recorder too. The head of the DGCA probe team, Mr. R.K Tyagi said that as they have started the probe just now and it would take time to investigate on it. The details of the probe will be updated on the DGCA website, he added. The government appointed enquiry committee has sought help of an expert accident investigator from the US Company Bell Helicopters to probe the helicopter crash, said sources.
