Kakinada, Dec 7^th: Endowments departments have taken the decision for the development of the temple assets under the Kakinada Deputy Commisioner’s jurisdiction. The Government has taken this decision to get regular income for the temples.

     The department is going for asset development in the form of purchasing agriculture lands with the amount it receives from the devotees. In this process the temples will be receiving regular income from the land by giving it to farmers on lease on regular basis.

    Previously the department used to adopt the process of depositing the amount in bank to the temples concerned. With this the department could not meet the needs of the temples at the time of festivals. So they have planned for the regular income process.

    According to the sources about 300 acers of agriculture land was purchased in the last one year in East and West Godavari District. Under departments supervision 20 such properties were identified and the development of these properties was take up for regular basis.

   The department is going for advances from the nationalized banks in taking up the activity. Speaking to the media Mr.V.Narasimha Raju said that the development will be done either by buying the agriculture lands or by renovating the choultries.
