Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK), Prof. Allam Appa Rao, here on Wednesday, stated that efforts are on to launch Department of Life Sciences in the University. A proposal had already been sent to the University Grants Commission on this. Addressing a conference on ‘medicine-technology interface' organized by the JNTUK, Prof. Appa Rao said the department would be useful to the people of eight districts under the purview of the university. He said he was taking the help of Argentina scientist Mr. Aldo and Medical scientist from the USA Mr. U.N. Das with regard to life sciences.
