Kakinada, June 2nd: District educational officer, Mr. Mallikarjuna Sastry warned the parent to check the status of the schools about recognition by government before joining their children. He advised the parent to join their kids in schools recognized by the government and local bodies as the certificates issued by the non recognized schools will be invalid. Children will be rendered ineligible to study in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas and government schools.

There are about 800 unrecognized schools in the district with sizeable student strength. Most of these schools are run in rural and remote areas to cater to the needs of locals. Parents mostly from poor and middle class are falling prey to such institutions. These schools make the students appear for SSC as private candidates. The cancellation of conduct of class VII common examination has come in as a blessing in disguise for these institutions.

The district education department has initiated several measures to tackle this problem. As a part of this it has taken measures to display list of recognized schools in mandal and district level at the concerned offices. The parents can check the status of the schools from the list and join the children accordingly.
