Kakinada, Mar 3rd: Demanding for immediate withdrawal of the hike in petrol prices, the activists and leaders of the Communist Party of India Liberation of East Godavari district organized dharna at the district Collectorate here on Wednesday. As part of the district wide program the activists in large numbers seized the Collectorate over the issue. Raising slogans against the UPA government, the activists burnt the effigy of the Union finance minister, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee.
The party city secretary, Mr. Gangababu said that the new union budget for 2010-11 was imposing huge burden on common man as the prices has been hiked up to 15% to 20% in all means. Later the activists submitted a memorandum to the district collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi. Party activists A. Arjuna Rao, K. Ganesh, Simhachalam, M. Latchi Babu, Nageswara Rao and other participated in dharna.
