Kakinada, May 6th: Due to lack of coordination between the departments that deal with the setting up of industrial units, welfare departments and bankers has affected the grounding of the Prime Ministers Employment Generation Program (PMEGP). There was also delay in the payment of scholarships to SC and BC students in the district. The issue came into light at the district consultative committee (DCC) meeting organized at collectorate on Wednesday.
East Godavari district collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi presided over the meeting, in which he was informed on non grounding of 200 units under the PMEGP due to non receipt of subsidiary amounts from the industries department. The representatives of the industries department informed collector that the money was not transferred to their account by KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission). The KVIC officials said that as there was no request from the industries department, so the amount was not transferred.
Collector asked the officials of industrial department to ensure the release of the amount at the earliest.
