Kakinada, Feb 24th: With the arrival of the new crops and imports from other countries the prices of the essential commodities has decreased in the open market bringing a great relief to the consumers in the last few weeks. But for the farmers who were expecting high prices are a little bit disappointed. The retail prices of the commodities are likely to be Rs 4 to 6 higher in the open market than in the rythu bazaars.
Godavari Chamber of commerce vice-president Nallam Varahala Babu said on Wednesday that the decline in the prices will continue for few more months to come with the arrival of the new crops and imports from other countries. He said that however the prices of the sugar has not declined and there were frequent fluctuations in the prices. He felt that government should intervene to stabilize the price of sugar.
