As part of State-level bandh call given by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) accusing the arrest a team of its leaders headed by the party president N. Chandrababu Naidu by the Maharashtra police, the party activists observed bandh here on monday. Traders did not open their shops, while the TDP activists prevented the movement of buses being activated by the APSRTC. The TDP activists divided into small groups and visited all the areas from the early hours of the day. They closed the gates of the offices of many government and private sector organizations. Banks and other financial institutions were closed for the day, while the managements of private schools announced holiday in the wake of bandh call. The government schools sent the students back, as the activists wanted the closure of all schools. The activists prevented the movement of auto-rickshaws too in some areas. However, the daylong Bandh was completed peacefully in the town on Monday.
