Collector, Mr. Ravi Chandra advised that, those who had voter ID cards need to check their names in the rolls, as there could be a possibility of missing the names. A review meeting was held with representatives of various political parties here at Collectorate Court Hall on Monday. Referring to the photo identity cards, he said that the cards were distributed to 98% of the voters and the remaining 2% need to submit their photographs to the officials concerned. He said that notices would be issued to those who had to submit their photographs. If voters did not respond to this notice within a week, voters name will be removed from the list he added. Representatives of various political parties stressed that there is a need for launching a campaign in slum areas about the ongoing voter enrolment program. They observed that most of the people residing in the slum areas were unaware of the program and there was a need to conduct a campaign. Last date for enrolment was 5th of December they added. Mr. Raja Reddy of the Congress, Mr. Dusarlapudi Ramana Raju of the Telugu Desam Party, Mr. D. Subba Rao of the Communist Party of India and Mr. T. Madhu of the CPI (M) participated in the meeting with the Collector. Revenue Divisional Officers, District Revenue Officer Mr. S. Venkata Rao and other officials were present.
