Hyderabad, July 28th: The state government is to set up a task force to crack down on teachers and other employees who reportedly submitted fake certificates to get jobs and promotions. The task force will function under AP Higher Education Council. There are allegations that more than 30,000 persons obtained jobs and promotions by submitting fake certificates issued by unrecognized universities. The issue came up for discussion at the AP Legislative Council on Tuesday.

MLCs alleged that the authorities had failed to verify the certificates before the candidates were appointed. Lack of information about recognized and unrecognized universities is the main reason for uncontrolled circulation of false certificates, they said. The minister for higher education, Mr. D. Sreedhar Babu, said the government would initiate action against the employees who obtained jobs by submitting fake documents.
