Couple commits suicide over insult

Kakinada, May 24th: Couple committed suicide by consuming pesticide at a local lodge here on Saturday. The couple were identified as Moka Vijaya Rao, 35 and Moka Varalakshmi, 30. They were the residents of Thimmapuram in Kakinada rural mandal of East Godavari District. They were employed in the Gulf for some time, returned recently and living in a rented house in the village.

 

A young married woman residing in their neighbourhood committed suicide a month ago by setting her self ablaze. Her brother, Y. Srinu lodged a complaint at Thimmapuram police station alleging that the couple was responsible for their sister’s death. Based on the complaint lodged, police arrested the couple and were out on bail a few days ago.

 

On Saturday night they hired a room at a lodge near RTC complex and committed suicide by consuming pesticide. The lodge management who became suspicious, broke the doors and found two dead bodies. They immediately informed the police about the incident. The bodies were shifted to government hospital for post-mortem.

 

Police has recovered a letter in the room stating that they have taken the decision of committing suicide due to the insult faced at their arrest. According to Kakinada Town circle inspector, Mr. Ch. Ravi kanth a case was booked and action would be taken after obtaining all evidences and case was filed at Thimmapuram police station.
