Control Ragging in Campuses : SP

District Superintendent of Police, Mr. G. Srinivas said that action would be initiated against the Management of Educational Institutions that failed to take steps to control ragging on their campuses. He advised the college managements to take letters of approval from the parents that their children could be punished if they resorted to ragging. Addressing a meeting with the officials of the revenue and police departments and principals of various colleges here on Saturday, Mr. Srinivas said that ragging could be controlled completely. The managements must take necessary steps such as conducting counseling to the students and parents. Participating as Chairman, District Collector, Mr. M.Ravi Chandra, said that there was every possibility of incidents of ragging in technical educational institutions, as the admissions were completed. He said that the district administration would not tolerate the incidents of ragging anymore, but initiate stringent action against all those who were responsible. He asked the Tahasildars to visit the colleges in their purview along with the sub-inspectors concerned and inspect the steps taken up by the managements to limit ragging.
