A strong cold wind was blown yesterday in the regions of Kakinada, Amalapuram and Rajahmundry as a result of Neelam Cyclone. There was a continous rainfall from the morning and terrible loss and halt was caused to the livelyhood of these regions. Farmers were fallen into great grief with this incident as their fields were completely ruined by the cyclone. Apart from this the lifting up of waves in the ocean is also making farmers get afraid off. In Kakinada-Uppada region these waves were lifted upto 3 meters. A person was dead with the fall of Electric wire at Kakinada Harbour. This cyclone has has shown effect on todays activities also. Number Two Red alert was passed at Kakinada and Seaport and requested Fishermen not to get into the rivers. Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad has started taking preventive actions by discussing with the Officers. A Control Room was organised in all the RDO offices of Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Peddapuram, Rampachodavaram including Collectorate. Control Room with number 0084-2365506 was made ready and Tollfree number 1077 was also made available. They organised staff for this control rooms inorder to receive the information about the bad effects of this cyclone and respond to support them immedaitely. A high alert was already created by MRO and MPDO's of the mandal located at seashores. If required tthey are making arrangement to move people to safe places. Public is also requested to follow safety measures.
