Kakinada, Mar 17th: The Peddapuram police on Wednesday arrested a constable, N. Veera Venkata Ramana and four other his supporters for murdering his brother-in-law, J. Srirama Chandramurthy, a money lender of Jaggampeta on March 10. Ramana himself admitted that he murdered his brother-in-law due to clashes over some money matters. According to the superintendent of police, Mr. Y. Nagi Reddy, Ramana was working as a constable in Peddapuram police station. He took leave for the office from March 10 and went to Murthy’s house saying him to collect the debt of Rs 18lakhs. Murthy went along with Ramana on motor cycle to farm lands where Ramana bashed Murthy to death with an iron rod and buried him with help of four other followers. Murthy’s wife on March 16 filed a case with police against Ramana stating that he kidnapped and murdered her husband. Police immediately arrested Ramana and his accomplices and are further investigating the case.
