Hyderabad, July 12th: Online counseling for Eamcet engineering admissions has worried many students and parents, especially those who are not very tech savvy. Though the students have hundreds of options in terms of colleges and courses, the officials have given time of only three days to make a choice. Students have to select colleges and courses on a priority basis out of a total 610 colleges. More over the details of the colleges and courses will be provided in codes. The students will need to check the codes and mark accordingly.

The government for the first time decided to conduct web based counseling for engineering admissions this year. Earlier the students had to visit the counseling centers in major cities. The centers were provided with big screen which displayed the available vacant seats. Students could easily identify the colleges and courses by going through the screen and accordingly make their choice.

However with online counseling this year, students need not visit counseling centers. They can opt for colleges and courses online. The Web based counseling was also implemented last year, but only in the second phase to fill up the vacant seats. Chairman of AP State Council of Higher Education, Prof K.C Reddy said that the online counseling will not only save time but also money against traveling to major cities to attend counseling.
