Sports competitions were conducted for Physically Challenged persons at District Sports Grounds here on Friday. In order to mark the World Physical Challenged Day in the first week of December, this competition has been conducted. They proved themselves creating very sportive and exciting environment during competitions. These competitions were conducted in association with District Physical Challenged Welfare Department and Kakinada Rural MLA Kurasala Kanna Babu participated as chief guest. Earlier, he hoisted the national flag and inaugurated the competitions. Speaking on this, he stressed that winning or losing the competitions is not necessary but participation is the only criteria, he added. He also reminded that Government is providing Rs.500/- to each candidate every month and all should make use of it, he added. Additional Joint Collector, Mr. B.Ramarao presided over this function. He stated that more than 600 sportsperson across the district participated in this competitions, he added. Physically Challenged Welfare Department ED Venkateswarao said that competitions would be conducted in Sub Juniors, juniors and seniors categories. Rajiv Vidya Mission PO Ramesh, DSDO Ramana, Hockey Coach Ravi Raju, Representative of Physically Challenged Welfare Department Mr. Jagadeesh, Lions Club Former Governor Dr.Badam Bala Krishna were present.
