Kakinada, Jan 8th: East Godavari District Collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwivedi has requested the lorry owners association to co-operate for the transport of daily essentials in the district. A review meeting was organized by collector on Thursday at Zilla Parishad meeting hall to look over the supplies of essentials in the district. Collector has reviewed the supplies of the daily essentials including the supply of edible oils, petrol, diesel and kerosene.
Lorry Owners Association President, Mr. Nerella Satyanarayana, has assured the district administration to cooperate in the movement of the essentials. He said that the association is hoping for the friendly solutions with the call given by the chief minister for a meet at the state level on Thursday.
As the oil companies were in strike, collector directed the HPCL authorities to maintain the supply of petroleum products with out any break. Hindusthan Petrolium had not joined the strike. HPCL representative, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar said that their operation from Gokavaram area plant were normal only with slight changes.
Collector also asked the marketing department, to ensure the supply of vegetables particularly the onions at all the rythu bazaara situated in the district. Responding to this the rythu bazaar estate officer Krishna Rao said that that they were selling onions at Rs13 per Kg. Joint collector Kona Sasidhar, SP Nagi Reddy and Ch Venugopalakrishna participated in the review meeting.
