Kakinada, Jan 5th: The East Godavari administration with the assistance of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) and the lead bank in the district, Andhra Bank, made arrangements for disbursement of advances to the tune of Rs 200 crore to self help-groups. In addition to this, smart cards will also be distributed to them for banking transactions. The chief minster, Mr. Rosaiah who is on his visit to the district will disburse the loans to SHG women groups at Zilla Parishad High School at Tallarevu on Wednesday.
Apart from Andhra Bank, other banks like SBI, UBI, Corporation Bank authorities are also taking part in the loan disbursement. The business correspondent appointed by the bank at the villages will extend the facility at the respective villages through biometrics systems. The executive director of Andhra Bank, Mr. Anil Girotra will disburse smart cards in the presence of the Chief Minster. The bank will also organize exhibition to create awareness among women groups on the use of smart cards.
