Hyderabad, Dec 16th: Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) chief Chiranjeevi Wednesday announced that he will go for a fast from Today to protest against Telangana statehood. His announcement comes days after the Centre accepted the proposal for a separate Telangana state to make Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) break his 11-day-long fast.
Chiranjeevi has decided to go on a fast from Thursday to mark his protest against splitting of Andhra Pradesh. He consulted PRP MLAs here Wednesday before coming to this decision. "He (Chiranjeevi) wants united Andhra," said an PRP activist. The actor-turned-politician will begin his fast at Tirupati, said a report. However, the political twist lies in the fact that Chiranjeevi had fought the Lok Sabha elections this year on a promise of statehood for Telangana.
