Chartered Accountant’s Day celebrated

Kakinada, July 1st: The Kakinada branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated Chartered Accountants’ Day here on Wednesday. It was on this day in 1949 that the ICAI came into being and also the Chartered Accountants Act. ICAI Central Council member Shantilal Daga was the chief guest. Another member of the ICAI Central Council J Venkateswarulu and Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) members D Prasanna Kumar and GVV Satyanarayana were guests of honor.

While inaugurating a computer laboratory on the occasion, Mr. Shantilal Daga narrated how the ICAI grew into one of India’s best institutions. Later, the ICAI’s Central and SIRC office-bearers felicitated senior chartered accountant Voleti Subrahmanyam.
