The District AIDS Prevention & Control Unit (DAPCU) has organised a Candle Light Rally here on Sunday in Kakinada. The rally is conducted to honour those who have passed away due to HIV/ AIDS and to raise consciousness about the disease. As many as 450 people from several organisations like Changes, Uma Educational Society, National Leprosy Eradication Programme, etc., were participated in this rally. The rally was started from Dr. B.R.Ambedkar statue at Indrapalem Jn and ended at Balaji Cheruvu center, towards Collectorate, Zilla Parishad & GGH. Speaking on this, DAPCU Officer Dr. Pavan Kumar said that the theme for the international AIDS memorial day this year is in solidarity for the families of HIV/ AIDS deceased people. He urged everyone to remember those who had died for this disease and be the voice of the voiceless and their light.
